OVERVIEW
This project was a poster and brochure design for a film club, showcasing ten sci-fi films under the theme "The Future is Female." The poster needed to visually capture the essence of science fiction while emphasizing female empowerment, with detailed movie descriptions, showtimes, and a layout that functioned as both a poster and a folded brochure.
DESIGN CONCEPT / STRATEGY
I wanted to explore how to visually represent the powerful theme of "The Future is Female" within the context of sci-fi. After experimenting with combining film scenes and imagery, I chose an abstract design because science fiction often leaves me with a sense of mystery and wonder. By abstracting the visuals, I aimed to evoke that same curiosity in the audience. Balancing the layout was a challenge, as I had to ensure it worked both as a poster and a brochure, while keeping it visually engaging. I used purple to symbolize the strength of women, adding gradients to the lines for consistency throughout the design.
